Suitable For

Good UV resistance, nice glossy surface, pleasant to touch, hard and strong, chemically resistant, low color fading, can be smoothed with solvents like acetone. ASA offers exceptional UV resistance, oxidation and aging resistance, provides effective protection against breakage and color fading during long-term outdoor use. Compared to standard PETG or ABS, ASA can maintain its shape even at 100°C.

Not Suitable For

ASA is hygroscopic, meaning it absorbs water from the air. Can be difficult to process. May produce toxic fumes when burned. Some types and filaments are expensive. ASA melts with some other plastics, leading to low quality prints. Does not tolerate some concentrated acids, hydrocarbons, esters, ethers and ketones.
